Who We Are

Welcome to the Sya Innovation Center (SIC) website. This website has been designed to inform you about the SIC‘s vision, activities and work. It is also the channel used to bridge the distance between research professionals and beneficiaries of the results of this research.

It is important to start these lines by introducing ourselves to you: we are all members of the SIC with various statuses: researchers, lecturers, administrators, technicians, PhD students, postdocs, and trainees.

One of our main objectives is to put in place an appropriate research environment to facilitate high quality research on infectious diseases in Burkina Faso and to contribute to capacity building by training the next generations of African scientists.

The overall goal of work in our laboratory is to understand the biology, genetics and genomics of mosquito vector diseases such as Malaria, arboviral related diseases, Lymphatic filariasis, and investigating mechanisms involved in insecticide resistance in Anopheles and Aedes vectors.
