Governance
SIC ‘s governance is exercised through the Board of Trustees and other bodies comprising vector control experts, public health, and representatives from partner organizations. A Scientific Advisory Board is assisting the SIC with strategic decisions, fundraising efforts, and collaborations. The governance structure ensures transparency, ethical practices, and alignment with the SIC’s objectives. Scientific Advisory Board (SAB)
his SAB is composed of external experts, representatives from partner organizations and key stakeholders to provide scientific advisory and guidance to SIC.
Board of Trustees
The board of trustees is made up of funding members of the SYA INNOVATION CENTER and comprises six Members, including the Executive Director (Prof. Abdoulaye Diabate), the Deputy Director (Dr. Lea Pare/Toe), the Programme Manager (Dr. Charles Guissou), the Scientific Director (DR. MOUSSA NAMOUNTOUGOU) and two heads of Research Departments (Dr Hamidou Maiga & Dr. Etienne Bilgo). The core responsibilities of these trustees are to ensure good governance practices, oversee fiduciary duties, and provide overall direction for the organization. The board supervises the organization of operations and ensures the maintenance of public confidence. As a not-profit research centre, SIC has an executive director who is responsible for day-to-day operations, implementing the organization’s strategic objectives, managing staff, and overseeing research projects.
Staff
SIC employs a team of researchers, scientists, administrative staff, support personnel and students & interns. SIC’s staff members contribute to research initiatives, project management, grant writing, fundraising and administrative functions.
Research Ethics Committee
To ensure ethical standards are maintained, SIC will rely on existing research ethics committee at the Institut de Recherche en Sciences de la Sante (IRSS) for the reviews and approvals of its research proposals, and to ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and ethical considerations.
